About The Game

Max Invaders is a fast paced version of the age-old classic of Space Invaders, except that you don't have any shields to hide behind to protect you. Instead you can fire as fast as your fingers will let you and your ship also moves a lot quicker as well. Game-play is as simple as it can get - just move left, right and fire. There's no extra weapons nor shields, just you, your gun and hordes of alien scum to be wiped out!

Minimum Specification

At the time of writing, the game is only available for the PC. The recommended minimum specification is as follows.

DirectX is available from the Microsoft web site and the latest OpenGL drivers can be obtained by downloading the latest drivers for your graphics card. Note that the game will default to DirectX if it is available, otherwise it will attempt to use OpenGL. If you are able to use both you can switch drivers by pressing [G] on the title screen (one may give you better performance than the other).

Playing The Game

The aim of the game is simple ... blast every alien before they blast you or land. Each wave will gradually get lower and they will start to fire more as the game progresses. You start with 3 lives and are awarded a new one every 25 waves.

Controlling the movement of the ship is achieved by either using the left and right cursor keys, or [Z] to move left and [X] to move right.

To fire press [Space]. You can also hold it down for auto-fire, but this won't be as fast as repeatedly pressing the key/button yourself.

You can pause the game by pressing [P]. To carry on playing hit [P] again, or use [Esc] or [Space].

To quit a game press [Esc] while playing. To exit the game altogether and return to your desktop press it on the title screen.
